Saturday Music Classes

Jubilate Conservatory of Music offers classes on Saturdays from

10:00am to 1:00pm at the Desert Foothills Library in Cave Creek, Arizona.

Students of all ages are welcome to participate at different times during the three hour period. Adults may attend classes with their children.

String players of all ages and levels play together in a music immersion style of instruction, presided over by JCM instructors. Tuition free!

A fun-filled musicianship class for infants through adults that explores matching pitch, rhythm band, group singing, music theory, and reading music. Tuition free!

on Fiddles

A special class for young students, who desire to play the violin, focusing on the mechanics of playing violin and reading simple notes and rhythms. Tuition required.

Singing and Song Writing Class - NEW!

Tuesdays 4:00 - 5:00pm | Desert Foothills Library

In a freeform environment, students come together to create their own work of art/music which will be recorded and performed at the end of the semester. This class will include vocal instruction and training in Bel Canto singing, which is safe for young voices. For students ages 9-16. Instructor: Cordi DeDecker.

Eclectic Ensemble for Percussion and Winds - NEW!

Tuesdays 5:00 - 6:00pm | Desert Foothills Library

A special music experience for students interested in learning about musical interaction with others in a modern setting. The class will explore bell and snare kits, marimba, steel tongue drums, wind instruments, and other percussion instruments in an environment set in the "Stomp" culture. For students ages 9-16. Instructor: Cordi DeDecker.

Advanced String Ensemble

Wednesdays 4:00 - 5:00pm | Desert Foothills Library

For students who are comfortable with their instrument and can read and play notes beyond first position. This class moves at a faster pace with a focus on technique, playing together in a group, and studying the different styles of the master composers, as well as new music. Students will participate in the end of semester recitals. Instructor: Bella Schwerin.​

Beginning String Ensemble

Thursdays 4:00 - 5:00pm | Desert Foothills Library

For students who play violin or cello, this class focuses on learning to read music and playing together, moving at a very beginning-level pace, with a focus on the joy of musical interaction. Students will participate in the end of semester recitals. Instructor: Laya Field.

 

Intermediate String Ensemble​

Thursdays 5:00 - 6:00pm | Desert Foothills Library

For students who know how to read music and play violin, viola, or cello in first position. Playing intermediate-level music together, students will increase technical skills and their ability to play with other young musicians. Students will participate in the end of semester recitals. Instructor: Laya Field.

 

​Jubilate Violin Orchestra - TUITION-FREE!

Saturdays 10:00 - 11:15am | Desert Foothills Library

A tuition-free course for beginning through advanced players of violin, viola, and cello, with a focus on music immersion and group participation. Beginning, intermediate, and advanced students participate together. Instructors: Cordi DeDecker, Bella Schwerin, Martins Steinblums, Tristi Cohen, and Laya Field.

​​Music from the Heart - TUITION-FREE!

Saturdays 11:15 - 12:00pm | Desert Foothills Library

A tuition-free course for tots to teens in a family friendly setting, where students learn to read, sing, and move with the language of music. A preparatory class for learning an instrument. A variety of percussion and other instruments will be introduced in this class along with blocks and charts to simplify the process for everyone! Instructors: Cordi DeDecker and Laya Field.

​​Littles on Fiddles​

Saturdays 12:00 - 12:45pm | Desert Foothills Library

This is a special class for students ages 3-5 who desire to play violin. The class focuses on the mechanics of playing the violin, reading simple notes and rhythms on the treble clef, and is geared specifically to younger children. An interview with Laya Field is required in order to determine readiness for this class. Students will participate in end of semester recitals. Tuition is required. Instructor: Laya Field.

Online Course

​

Music Production Workshop | Schedule TBA

Students learn the fundamentals of composition and the ins and outs of collaborating with others while creating a group music video. This class consists of 6 private online lessons and 8 online group sessions. This class is limited to 10 students, ages 12 and older. Instructor: John Gogolewski

Private Lessons​

Private lessons for violin, viola, cello, voice, piano, guitar, percussion, recorder, trumpet, and composition are available in person with some options to learn online. Lessons are scheduled individually in consultation with the instructor. All students in private lessons participate in the end of semester recitals. Our lesson instructors are listed below.
