AFTER-SCHOOL MUSIC CLASSES

Eclectic Ensemble for Percussion and Winds - NEW!

A special music experience for students interested in learning about musical interaction with others in a modern setting. The class will explore bell and snare kits, marimba, steel tongue drums, wind instruments and other percussion instruments in an environment set in the "Stomp" culture. For students ages 9-16. Instructor: Cordi DeDecker

Singing and Song Writing Class - NEW!

In a freeform environment, students come together to create their own work of art which will be recorded and performed at the end of the semester. This class will include vocal instruction and training in Bel Canto singing which is safe for young voices. For students ages 9-16. Instructor: Cordi DeDecker

Beginning String Ensemble

Beginning String Ensemble is a class for students learning to play violin, viola, or cello and are beginning to read music. This class focuses on playing together in a string ensemble moving at a beginner-level pace with a focus on the joy of musical interaction. Students participate in the end of semester recitals. Instructor: Laya Field.

Intermediate String Ensemble

Intermediate String Ensemble is a class for students who can read music and play violin, viola, or cello at an intermediate level. This class moves at a moderate pace with a focus on technique, music theory, reading music, and playing together in a string ensemble. Students participate in the end of semester recitals. Students must meet with the instructor to determine readiness for this class. Instructor: Laya Field

Advanced String Ensemble

For students who are comfortable with their instrument and can read and play notes beyond first position, this class moves at a faster pace with a focus on technique, playing together in a group, and studying the different styles of the master composers as well as new music. Students will participate in the end of semester recitals. Instructor: Bella Schwerin.​

SATURDAY MUSIC CLASSES​

​Jubilate Violin Orchestra

The Jubilate Violin Orchestra is open to children ages 5 and older. It is a tuition-free course taught at the Desert Foothills Library on Saturdays. String players of all levels, beginning through advanced, join together to play violin, viola, and cello in a family-style form of teaching. The class focuses on the joyful art of group participation. Parents and grandparents are welcome to join the orchestra. Instructors: Cordi DeDecker, Bella Schwerin, Martins Steinblums, Tristi Cohen, and Laya Field.​​

Music from the Heart 

Music from the Heart is a general music class for all ages, toddlers through adults. In a "Summer Camp" style of teaching, music theory and reading music is instructed in fun-filled fashion. It is a tuition-free course taught at the Desert Foothills Library on Saturdays. This class focuses on the joyful art of group participation and is considered a supplement class for all students attending Jubilate Conservatory of Music. This class reinforces the technical aspects of what all Jubilate students are learning in a light-hearted setting. Instructors: Cordi DeDecker and Laya Field.​​​

Littles on Fiddles

This is a special class for students ages 3 -5 who desire to play the violin. The class focuses on the mechanics of playing the violin and reading simple notes and rhythms on the treble clef. An interview with the instructor is required in order to determine readiness for this class. Students will participate in end of semester recitals.
Tuition fees will be charged for the class. This class is a preparatory course for entrance into the Beginning Violin Class and Jubilate Violin Orchestra. Instructor: Laya Field.

PRIVATE LESSONS​

Private Lessons​

Private lessons are available for violin, viola, cello, voice, piano, guitar, percussion, recorder, trumpet, and composition in person with some options to learn online. Lessons are scheduled individually in consultation with the instructor. All students in private lessons participate in the end of semester recitals.

Lessons Offered in Person

Laya Field: beginning through intermediate violin and viola, voice all levels, composition

Bella Schwerin: cello all levels, beginning violin and viola

Cordi DeDecker: percussion, recorder, and trumpet all levels

Violin & Viola Lessons

Private violin and viola lessons are available at Jubilate Conservatory of Music. Laya Field specializes in teaching beginning to intermediate level violin and viola students.

Cello Lessons

Private cello lessons are available at Jubilate Conservatory of Music. Bella Schwerin teaches beginning, intermediate, and advanced level cello students.

​

​​​​Voice Lessons

Private Voice Lessons are available at Jubilate Conservatory of Music. Laya Field teaches beginning through advanced level students. These lessons are gauged to the individual student in order to prepare them for their desired course of action. This would include singing in a choir, onstage in musicals, an operatic setting, or pursuing a career as a soloist.

Music Collaboration, Lessons for Violin, Viola, Piano, and Guitar

Music Collaboration Class

Students learn the fundamentals of composition and the ins and outs of collaborating with others while creating a group music video. This class consists of 6 private online lessons and 8 online group sessions. This class is limited to 10 students, age 12 and older. John Gogolewski instructs this class online throughout the school year. â€‹â€‹
