Bella Schwerin

Cellist
Bella Schwerin

Arabella "Bella" Schwerin is a professional cellist, strings teacher, and immersive design artist. Bella currently teaches cello lessons at Jubilate Conservatory of Music.

Bella is originally from Iowa, moved to Kansas for undergrad studies, and then to Florida for graduate studies. Over the past five years, she has been performing in symphonies, chamber concerts, new music ensembles, and solo recitals as a professional cellist. This has taken her all over the US, the Dominican Republic, and Europe.

Bella is an advocate and lover of new music and creating new ways to experience a recital or concert through immersive design and fluxus artistry. She has won awards, grants, and toured with commissions for her designs, concert experiences, and installations.

Bella has been teaching students at various levels as well as individuals with special needs physically and mentally for 6 years. Her goal as a private instructor is to encourage the discovery of each student’s unique success and help to develop the necessary fundamentals to reach their goals.

Bella states, "In a first lesson, I prioritize physical awareness and understanding on the instrument, and the ability to produce a good sound. Technical ability is important; however, I believe it is crucial to help the student discover a healthy love for music and the instrument above all. I value imagination, creativity, and passion for the instrument, and I encourage my students to adopt these values as they work towards individual success. Success varies for everyone and I love finding new and different ways to connect cello and music to other skills or passions for my students mentally and physically. Joy for music cannot be taught, but I am a strong believer that it can be facilitated."

When she is away from music, Bella likes to hike, create art, and rock climb.
