Saturday Music Class at Desert Foothills Library​

for Adults and Children

Jubilate Conservatory of Music offers the Jubilate Violin Orchestra, a free orchestra class for strings on Saturdays from 10:00am to 11:30am at the Desert Foothills Library in Cave Creek, Arizona. This course is designed to facilitate beginning through advanced students levels together. All ages are welcome to participate!

Jubilate Violin Orchestra â€‹Saturdays 10:00 - 11:30am 

A course for very beginning players to advanced players for violin, viola, and cello, with a focus on music immersion and the joy of group participation. All students participate together in a relaxed setting, learning the ins and outs of communicating the language of music with others; easily accessible for all ages. No tuition fee; registration required.

Music from the Heart Saturdays 12:00 - 12:45pm

A course for tots to teens in a family friendly setting where learning to sing, read, and move with the language of music is simplified in a joyful setting. This class is an excellent introduction to music and a great preparatory class for learning an instrument. A variety of percussion instruments are introduced, along with blocks and charts, simplifying the process for everyone! No tuition fee; registration required.

Carefree Recorder Class - Adult Class Mondays 3:00 - 4:00pm JCM Main Music School

Session 1: September 14 - October 19, 2026

Session 2: November 2 - December 7, 2026

The recorder is perfect for adults just beginning to learn the language of music, as well as those who have past musical experience, and especially those who appreciate a rewarding brain workout! This ensemble class will also share the social dimension of playing the recorder in a group. The class will move at a beginning level pace, starting with learning individual skills on the alto recorder and then blending as a group. It will feature a variety of styles of music from different eras, from medieval modes to country, courtly and chamber settings of Europe, to tunes that are familiar to us today. The recorder loves them all! Two separate sessions are offered this semester. Tuition and registration fees are required.

Music from the Heart, Mommy and Me Tuesdays 10:30 - 11:15am JCM Main Music School

This course has been modified for infants and toddlers, but older siblings are also welcome. In this course, children learn to sing, read, and move with the language of music in a simplified and joyful setting. This class is an excellent introduction to music and a great preparatory class for learning an instrument. A variety of percussion instruments are introduced, along with blocks and charts, simplifying the process for everyone! Tuition and registration fees are required.

Carefree String Ensemble - Adult Class | Tuesdays 3:30 - 4:30pm | JCM Main Music School

This is a class for adults who used to play or are currently learning to play violin, viola, or cello. The Carefree Ensemble moves at an easy pace and is for students who are comfortable with their instruments, and can read and play notes in the first position and beyond. The focus of this class is on group cohesion and studying different styles of music. The Carefree Ensemble will participate in the end of semester recitals.​ Tuition and registration fees are required.

Black Mountain Strings - Teenage Strings Class Tuesdays 4:30 - 5:30pm JCM Main Music School

This is an intermediate string ensemble course for violin, viola, and cello students who are comfortable with their instruments, and can read and play notes in first position and beyond. Moving at a moderate pace with a focus on technique, playing together in a group, and studying the different styles of music, this class provides students an opportunity to begin to prepare for advanced ensembles. Black Mountain Strings will participate in the end of semester recitals.​ Tuition and registration fees are required.

This is an adult level music class where students learn to understand the language of music in a joyful setting. Prickly Pear Players - Beginning Piano Class for Children | Wednesdays 4:00 - 5:00pm | JCM Main Music School

An exploration into the world of piano keyboards for students ages 7 and older. Students will learn to play the piano in a group setting, moving at a beginning level pace. Keyboards will be provided. There is a limit of 5 students per class. The Prickly Pear Players will participate in the end of semester recitals with a group presentation.​ Tuition and registration fees are required.

Jubilate Choir Wednesdays 4:00 - 5:00pm JCM Main Music School

A voice class for students age 8 and older who have learned to match pitch. Students will learn bel canto vocal technique used in singing opera, oratorio, or legitimate Broadway styles. The syllabus this semester includes songs in English, Latin, and French in parts and in unison. Hand chimes will be introduced. Tuition and registration fees are required.

Littles on Fiddles | Thursdays 3:30 - 4:10pm | JCM Main Music School

For students ages 4-6, this is a very beginning level class for young children who are learning to work in a group setting and have a desire to play violin. An interview with the instructor is required to determine readiness for the class. Littles on Fiddles will participate in the ends of semester recitals. Tuition and registration fees are required.

Saguaro Violins - Beginning Violin Class Thursdays 4:00 - 4:45pm | JCM Main Music School

For students ages 6-8, who have played the violin for at least 3 months. Students will learn to play together with others. This class moves at a beginning level pace with a focus on the joy of musical interaction. An interview with the instructor is required to determine readiness for this class. Saguaro Violins will participate in the end of semester recitals. Tuition and registration fees are required.

Saguaro Strings - Beginning String Class Thursdays 4:30 - 5:20pm | JCM Main Music School

For children who are learning to read music and play violin, viola, or cello. Playing simple beginning level music, this class moves at a slow pace allowing students to learn the language of music together and grow their skills at playing their instruments. Saguaro Strings will participate in the end of semester recitals. Tuition and registration fees are required.

Music Lessons​

Private lessons are available for violin, viola, cello, voice, piano, organ, guitar, composition, and music theory onsite and in-person with some options to learn online. All lessons are scheduled individually in consultation with the instructor. Students in private instrument lessons participate in the end of semester recitals. Tuition and registration fees are required.

Violin, Viola, and Cello Lessons

Private violin and viola lessons are available in person for students of all ages and levels at Jubilate Conservatory of Music. Laya Field specializes in teaching beginning violin, viola, and cello students. Esme Peters teaches beginning through intermediate violin and viola students. Ella Absalon teaches beginning through advanced cello.

​​​​Voice Lessons

Private voice lessons for students of all ages and levels are available at Jubilate Conservatory of Music. Laya Field teaches beginning through advanced level students. These lessons are gauged to the individual student in order to prepare them for their desired course of action, such as singing in a choir, onstage in musicals, an operatic setting, or pursuing a career as a soloist.

 

Piano and Organ Lessons

Private lessons for piano and organ are available through Jubilate Conservatory of Music at studios in Cave Creek, Carefree, and Scottsdale. Robert Graziano offers private lessons in piano and organ in Scottsdale at a satellite studio on the corner of Hayden and Shea, 10180 Hayden Drive, Scottsdale, AZ 85258.

Music Theory and Composition Lessons

Private lessons in music theory and composition are available at Jubilate Conservatory of Music. Robert Graziano offers private lessons in music theory and composition in Scottsdale at a satellite studio on the corner of Hayden and Shea, 10180 Hayden Drive, Scottsdale, AZ 85258.

​Online Instrument Lessons​

Private instrument lessons are available online for violin, viola, cello, piano, guitar, and music composition. Lessons are scheduled individually in consultation with the instructor. Sonja Prychitko offers online violin and viola lessons for intermediate and advanced students. Bella Schwerin teaches online cello lessons for students of all levels. John Gogolewski provides online guitar and piano lessons for intermediate and advanced students. Harrison Cole teaches piano lessons online. Online students in private lessons have the option to participate in the end of semester recitals. Tuition and registration fees are required.

​Online Music Composition and Production Workshop

Students learn the fundamentals of composition and the ins and outs of collaborating with others while creating a group music video. This class consists of 6 private online lessons and 8 online group sessions. This class is limited to 10 students, ages 12 and older. Tuition and registration fees are required.

Future Recorder Classes

Roadrunner Recorders - Children's Class

This is a beginning level class in the recorder for children ages 7-10 who are interested in playing wind instruments. Students will learn to understand the language of music and play the recorder moving at a beginning level pace. Various simplified styles of music will be introduced which will prepare students to play with others. Tuition and registration fees are required.

Black Mountain Winds - Teens & Tweens Class

This is a beginning level class for students ages 10-18 who are interested in playing wind instruments. Students will learn to understand the language of music and play different types of recorders moving at a beginning level pace. Various simplified styles of music will be introduced which will begin to prepare students to play true Baroque recorder music written by master composers as well as music made popular in the 1970s. Tuition and registration fees are required.
