Fall 2022 Schedule at Desert Foothills Library in Cave Creek and Online

September 10th – December 17th        14 Week Semester

In person classes at Desert Foothills Library

Mondays 4:00-5:00 Beginning Violin Class                                                                   

For students 6 years and older; Students learn to play the violin in a lighthearted setting with a class limited to 8 students and two instructors. Instructors: Joshua LaFleur & Laya Field 

 

Tuesdays 3:30-4:30 or Wednesdays 4:15-5:15 Beginning String Ensemble

For students who know how to read music and play violin, viola, or cello in first position. Students enjoy playing simple pieces of music together in a group and increase their ability to engage with other young musicians. Instructor, Sonja Prichitko

 

Tuesdays 4:45-6:00 Advanced String Ensemble

For students who are able to read music and play violin, viola, or cello beyond first position. This class focuses on technique, the ins and outs of playing together in an ensemble and understanding the different styles of playing classic works.  Instructor, Sonja Prichitko

 

Wednesdays 4:00-5:00 Jubilate Choir                                                                           For students aged 9 and older. Students learn how to sing with others in a group setting and follow a director, singing several different styles of music including classical. Instructor, Laya Field 

 

Saturdays 10:00-12:00, "Jubilate Violin Orchestra" for beginners to advanced players for violin, viola, and cello. Beginners join the group at 10:45.

 

Saturdays, 12:15-1:00, "Music from the Heart" for tots to teens in a family friendly space where students learn to share in the language of music; a preparatory class for learning an instrument.

Online Courses

Music from the Heart

An online music class for students aged five to twelve, this class is designed to introduce the joyful world of musical interaction, where learning to read music and understand basic music theory is delightfully presented by Jubilate Conservatory of Music graduate, Aphton Fuller.

Untangling Ensemble

A support group for intermediate to advanced string players in an online class setting. Students will discuss the challenges of practicing their instruments, playing with others, and keeping the joy in music as they increase technical skill. This class will play simple pieces together online, keeping things light and easily attainable. Instructor Aphton Fuller

Online Collaboration Class

For students aged 12 and older. This class consists of a combination of private online lessons and group online sessions. Students learn the fundamentals of composition in private lessons, and the ins and outs of collaborating with others in group sessions, while creating a music video or audio of their own. This class is limited to ten students. Instructor, John Gogolewski
