Rachelle Dart is a performer, theatre maker, traditional storyteller and teaching artist currently residing in Phoenix, Arizona. Rachelle graduated from Arizona State University earning a Bachelors in Theatre with a Concentration in Acting and is a certified teacher of Fitzmaurice Voicework®. Some of her previous acting roles include Olivia in TWELFTH NIGHT, Benvolio in ROMEO AND JULIET (Southwest Shakespeare Company), John Wesley Powell in MEN ON BOATS (Arizona State University), Robin Hood in THE OUTLAW ROBIN HOOD and Grace Fryer in RADIUM GIRLS (Paradise Valley Community College). She is an Advanced Actor Combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors and is passionate about safe stage violence in education and performance. She has choreographed for shows including OTHELLO (Harlem Shakespeare Festival/Southwest Shakespeare Company), MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, RICHARD II (Southwest Shakespeare Company) KILL WILL, SHAKESPEARE LAND OF THE DEAD (Scottsdale Community College), MINOTAUR (Paradise Valley Community College). She performs and teaches improvisational comedy and has directed a local troupe, The Penguin Players, for four years as they lovingly embraced fear and failure. In 2016, she co-founded Small Dance Collective, a physical dance theatre company, grounded in the celebration of process and community stories. She apprenticed in the craft of storytelling with Irish storyteller Liz Weir, MBE and together they received the J.J. Reneaux Mentorship Award from the National Storytelling Network.
